At Schmidt Associates, the renovation and restoration of historically significant buildings is at the heart of our practice. Our team has had the privilege of working on some of the region’s most iconic civic and cultural landmarks, including the Terre Haute Federal Building, the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, and the Old St. Vincent Hospital.

Since establishing our Indianapolis office along Massachusetts Avenue in 1978—and expanding to Louisville’s Paristown neighborhood in 2020—we have been deeply invested in the revitalization of historic districts. Our commitment extends beyond individual buildings to neighborhood-scale planning and documentation, such as our work with Mapleton-Fall Creek and our leadership in securing LEED-ND status with the U.S. Green Building Council.

From strategic planning at the Indiana State Fairgrounds to development around the Padgett District in New Albany, Indiana, and landmark projects like the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis, we approach every project with precision and care.

By pairing traditional archival research with advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning and drone photogrammetry, we have successfully reconstructed lost profiles and intricate details, restoring authentic texture and depth to both interiors and façades.

At See Dirt Run!™ our log home and log cabin restoration, maintenance and refinishing services range from specialized wood care for log cabins and log homes to cedar and redwood homes. We offer log home restoration services like chemical stripping to remove failing finishes, or crushed glass blasting if a dry method is preferred. If your home is drafty, we offer thermal imaging energy audits to pinpoint problem spots making it easier to correct those areas. Our energy sealing and chinking services include both new installation or repair of an existing one depending on your needs. And of course, we offer sealing and staining services for all wood homes. Log rot repair and wood replacement are also services that we offer. Once your home has been restored, we offer a full compliment of maintenance services to keep it maintained for many years to come.

SFS Architecture is a full-service architecture, interior design and planning firm founded in Kansas City, Missouri in 1973. Over the past 35 years, SM+P Architects has served clients ranging from restaurants, schools and laboratories to private clubs and residences. Stardust provides quality reclaimed materials for reuse. We are located in Phoenix AZ. Stardust operates retail warehouse stores selling building supplies donated by manufacturers, distributors, contractors and individuals. This process diverts over 15.0 million pounds of reusable building materials from local landfills every year making new and nearly-new materials available to our community at 50-80% off retail prices. Stardust Deconstruction services offer removal and pick-up of materials to further encourage recycling and environmental stewardship. Stardust Deconstruction crews remove useable building materials from homes and businesses in return for donation of the items removed.
